ACS LANDS FIRST B747-8F AT FRANKFURT HAHN TO TRANSPORT APPARATUS FOR FIFA WORLD CUP

Leading aircraft charter specialist, Air Charter Service, recently organised a charter for the first landing of a Boeing 747-8 freighter at Hahn Airport. It was chartered for the transport of dealcoholisation apparatus to São Paulo, which will be used to reduce the alcohol concentration in Brazilian beer during the FIFA World Cup taking place in the country next year. Stephan Blank, Managing Director Air Charter Service Germany, explains another interesting part of the flight: “As well as being exceptional cargo, the charter itself was special. This was the first visit to Frankfurt Hahn Airport for the B747-8F and was only possible after we obtained special permissions. It was welcomed by a ‘water cannon salute’ put on by the airport fire department.” [see photo] Blank continued: “The shipment was handled by Agility Logistics and the total weight was 35 tons. It was transported in 24 pieces inside wooden boxes and mounted on transport carriages. We sent a team of ACS experts to the airport to ensure a smooth operation - that the cargo was loaded correctly and that the aircraft was able to take off on time on its way to Viracopos-Campinas International Airport, Sao Paulo. Blank concluded: “FIFA has decided, as of 2014, to ban alcoholic beverage consumption within the stadia of World Cup matches. In Brazil, non-alcoholic beers are simply not produced, so they are having to dealcoholise the beer that they do have and that is the job of this apparatus.” www.aircharterservice.com
