Chalet Gentianes, Courchevel 1850
Tucked away in a peaceful spot a few minutes’ walk from the centre of Courchevel 1850, Chalet Gentianes blends luxury with traditional charm.
Built in traditional alpine style, the warming wood interior and lofty ceilings give a cosy ambience while maintaining a sense of space, and the central fireplace is the perfect place to warm chilly toes or catch up over a vin chaud. Downstairs, a gym, pool and jacuzzi are on hand to help you work out or unwind, along with a hammam and spa treatment room for soothing tired muscles. A dedicated butler is available to take care of every request, while a personal chef will prepare meals under the direction of your chalet manager.

With 600km of pistes and access to seven resorts, Les Trois Vallées is the world’s biggest (and arguably best) ski area. In fact, one ski pass will give you access to more than 150 lifts and over 300 runs. 85% of the ski area is above 1,800 metres and the majority of the slopes are north-facing, meaning there’s usually plenty of snow. It’s topped up and guaranteed from early December to the end of April though by the largest artificial snow system in France. For those looking to find their feet or perfect their technique, the chalet has its own bilingual ski instructor.
