In January 2022, we pulled out all the stops to option an in-demand aircraft for a TV star travelling from Dubai to Iraq.
Flying a Middle Eastern TV star to a video shoot
In January 2022, we were asked to help fly a leading Middle Eastern TV personality from Dubai to Iraq, where she was shooting a promotional video. With charter aircraft in high demand amidst the spread of the Omicron Covid-19 variant, we needed to find a suitable solution as soon as possible to ensure the flight went ahead.
Our Solution
Route: Dubai > Erbil
Aircraft: Bombardier Challenger 850
The client initially requested a Hawker 800 but we suggested chartering a larger Bombardier Challenger 850, as it had more headroom and extra space to transport the star’s many costumes. We quickly sourced an available aircraft and our strong relationship with the operator meant we could option the plane despite high demand from competitors. Our team then liaised with the client to confirm the final passenger list with enough time to secure the necessary permits.
The Finer Details
Bespoke Touches: The client’s production manager was celebrating his birthday on the day of the flight, so we arranged for a calligrapher to personalise a cake with his name in Arabic and decorated the aircraft.
Rapid Response: Knowing there was limited aircraft availability in the charter market, we sprung into action to option a solution on the same day the request came in.
