Transporting materials for Covid-19 facemasks

In May 2020, a freight forwarder in the United States asked Air Charter Service to transport raw materials for protective facemasks from Miami to Guatemala as the Covid-19 pandemic continued.

The client had initially liaised directly with a commercial airline, but asked us to arrange a charter after struggling to secure availability within the required timeframe. With urgent production deadlines at risk of being missed, we sprung into action to quickly source a suitable solution with a tight turnaround.

Our Solution

Routes: Miami > Guatemala City

Aircraft: Boeing B767

We needed to act fast to find an aircraft with availability to transport the cargo south to Guatemala at short notice. Within 30 minutes of receiving the client’s request, our award-winning cargo team used their unrivalled industry contacts and buying power to source a Boeing B767 with the capacity to transport the consignment at short notice. Later that day, we also secured warehouse space that could store the materials for each flight. After safely transporting the materials to Guatemala, we were then asked to fly the finished PPE back to the United States.
