Hawke’s Bay Airport is located in Westshore, a suburb of Napier. The airport has three runways, however, one of which is grass. The airport’s operating hours are between 05:00am and 18:00. The airport is well connected by road to the local areas and a shuttle bus service runs to Napier and Hastings. The terminal building has recently been expanded and refurbished; it now features a café, bar, shopping facilities and conference rooms. The airport is due to change its name to Ahuriri Airport Hawke's Bay in October 2017. Hawke’s Bay Airport does not facilitate recreational aviation, however located nearby is the Hastings Aerodrome often used for training and leisure flights.
