Republic Airport is in East Farmingdale, in the Town of Babylon, Suffolk County, New York. Republic Airport was developed by Sherman Fairchild as the Fairchild Flying Field in East Farmingdale on Long Island, NY in late 1927. The facility is medium of size at 526 acres and supports two asphalt runways. It carries out a heavy 620 flights per day and bases 507 on the field at any given time, making it a very busy complex. It has a two-story terminal building serving passengers boarding charter flights to nearby cities such as Atlantic City, New Jersey.
