Private jet charter and flights to Verbier

Located in the heart of the Alpine mountain range, Verbier is perched on a south-facing plateau with just one through road linking it to the rest of the world. However, this isolation does not stop thousands of international visitors flocking to enjoy its facilities and access the exciting activities it offers. Experience it all, charter a private jet today.

Verbier is best known as a classy and somewhat expensive ski resort in the Valaisian Alps. Verbier maintains its prestigious status well and has managed to become all things to all people with a sublime blend of accommodation, dining and recreational pursuit options.

The Verbier resort is a must for skiers and snowboarders. Linked to the 4 Vallées, Verbier is part of Switzerland's largest ski area with 410km of linked pistes served by 93 ski lifts. The 4 Vallées area has 35 blue pistes, 39 red pistes, 14 black pistes, a snowpark, a handful of cross-country ski and winter walking trails and an unbelievable range of off-piste opportunities. The varied terrain attracts skiers and snowboarders from around the globe and offers something for every level of ability, from beginners to extreme freeride and professional skiers.

Still on the snow but dispensing with skis or a board, try sledging at La Tzoumaz or snowshoeing between Verbier and the Grand St Bernard. Alternatively, take to the air by paragliding from Les Ruinettes, enjoying breath-taking views of the Alps and the Mont-Blanc and Combins massifs.

When the snow has melted away, the region of Verbier, Val de Bagnes and La Tzoumaz offer mountain biking options for every ability level and preference. In Verbier, there is a Bike Park with eight downhill trails totaling 17km in length, populated with jumps and ramps, to guarantee adrenaline-pumping fun. The wider region offers 213km of enduro trails, predominantly singletrack, and over 500km of marked cross-country forest trails. If cycling on tarmac appeals, then attempt one or two of the region's legendary passes, such as the Grand Saint-Bernard or La Forclaz, or there's the option to discover the surrounding villages at a more leisurely pace by joining an excursion, immersing oneself in the region's magical and natural ambience.

Prefer to walk? Then Verbier is for you, with over 500km of hiking trails in the region. Combine art with walking on the 3D Sculpture Parc starting from La Chaux, or La Planie, a photographic trail that meanders 4.5km through the pastures from Les Ruinettes to Croix-de-Cœur.

Golfers can follow their passion at Les Desserts or Les Moulins and, for those that like to get a little higher, there's an indoor climbing wall in the Verbier sports centre, a 12-metre-high aerial walkway at Médran, 'Via Ferrata' at Les Gentianes and mountaineering trips can be organised to ascend legends such as Vélan, Dolent and Grand Combin.  For active relaxation, the Parcours Vita of Verbier combines a structured fitness boost in a 2.2km countryside walk.

In addition to the outdoor 'art on a hike' option, there are many fine art galleries, libraries and book huts in and around Verbier.  Check out the Bel Air Fine Art Verbier gallery or visit the Bibliothèque de Verbier, the Book Hut in Médières or the Cotterg Book Hut in Le Châble for your reading pleasure.

Whatever dining preference, Verbier offers many options. The top choice is Le Namasté, serving up delicious, traditional Swiss dishes. Chez Dany and Le Carrefour are also renowned for excellent Swiss food as is Le Bec, which brings a more contemporary menu to the table. For affordable, no-nonsense pizza, the atmospheric Fer à Cheval serves fabulous food any hour. Verbier's vibrant après-ski scene, once down from the slopes, moves to the Rue de Médran and the Place Centrale, home to a plethora of bars, brasseries and Farinet South, one of three nightclubs in town.
