COUNTRY GUIDE QATAR

Private Jet Charter to Qatar

In 1940, the discovery of oil prompted rapid economic development in the small Gulf state of Qatar, which today is the richest country in the world. Set to host the 2022 World Cup, development continues at breakneck speed.Experience it all, simply charter a private jet to Qatar with Air Charter Service.

Qatar is essentially a city-state, with over half the population based in capital city Doha. This buzzing metropolis is famed for its futuristic skyscrapers overlooking the Persian Gulf, a glittering symbol of Qatar’s modern success. Take a walk along the grassy promenade around Doha Bay, known as the Corniche, or view the glittering skyline at night from a private yacht. Manmade Island the Pearl-Qatar is dubbed the ‘Arabian Riviera’ thanks to its luxury marina, millionaire’s yachts and designer shopping.

Glitz and glamour aside, Qatar is a deeply traditional country steeped in history and culture. Located on its own artificial island in Doha, the Museum of Islamic Art displays pieces dating back to the 7th Century, while the building’s impressive water features and arches are a modern interpretation of traditional Islamic style. Also in the capital is the Katara Cultural Centre, which boasts a Roman-style amphitheatre and private beach; while 100km away on the Qatari Peninsula’s north-western coast sits the impressive Al Zubara Fort, a UNESCO-listed archaeological site.

Journey by four-wheel drive and camel to admire one of Qatar’s most striking natural wonders: the inland sea of Khor al Adaid. This UNESCO-recognised phenomenon occurs where the country’s south coast juts out into the Persian Gulf opposite the Saudi Arabian shoreline, creating the mirage of an enclosed sea. Surrounded by a scenic landscape of arid desert and rolling sand dunes, the natural reserve supports its own eco-system and is home to rare turtles and an array of birdlife.

Qatar’s beautiful western coastline boasts several stunning sandy beaches, such as the windsurfer’s paradise of Ras Abrooq with its low limestone cliffs and Dukhan Beach, a popular snorkelling and picnicking spot. Elsewhere, head into the desert to try the popular local pastime of dune-bashing – ripping up and down the dunes in a 4x4 – or hire a car and visit the quiet fishing towns of Al-Khor and Al-Zubara.

As the capital of the world’s richest country per capita GDP, it’s unsurprising that Doha boasts countless lavish international hotels, each offering exceptional suites and world-class facilities such as private beaches, swimming pools and exclusive fine-dining restaurants. You’ll also find serviced luxury apartments in the city, while those venturing into the desert can stay in authentic tented camps with roaring campfires.

Simply contact our team and we’ll arrange everything you need to charter a private jet to Qatar landing at Doha International Airport.
