Repatriating stranded Chinese passengers during Covid-19

In May 2020, a travel agent asked us to help fly two passengers home from the United States to Hong Kong during the first wave of the Covid-19 pandemic.

With limited aircraft availability and constantly changing travel restrictions as the crisis unfolded, we sprung into action to find a viable solution for this complex last-minute request.

Our Solution

Route: Boston > Los Angeles

Aircraft: Cessna Citation X

It proved difficult to source a private jet that could fly the passengers all the way back to China at such short notice. Thinking outside the box, we suggested flying them from Boston to Los Angeles by private jet and booking seats on a connecting commercial flight to Hong Kong for the remainder of the journey. The client was happy with this alternative solution, so we sourced a Cessna Citation X with last-minute availability for the first part of the journey and the travel agent arranged tickets on a scheduled service for the final leg.
