Medical evacuation following a car accident
In August 2021, our Spanish office was asked to help fly a child who’d been injured in a car accident from a hospital in Seville to the local facility in his hometown.
The journey was too far to make by ambulance, so a charter was the only way to quickly transfer the patient. We sprung into action to source a specialist aircraft within budget and complete the journey as soon as possible.
Route: Seville > Bilbao
Aircraft: Cessna Citation II
Our experienced team knew there was only one air ambulance running in Spain, so we immediately contacted the operating airline to check availability and charter the aircraft. We then liaised with the patient’s parents to ensure all passengers had complied with mandatory Covid-19 testing before travelling. The flight ran smoothly and the patient was transported safely home for further treatment.
The Finer Details
Rapid Response: We were able to present the client with a cost-effective solution within 45 minutes of receiving the request.
Unrivalled Experience: Our team’s in-depth knowledge of the local charter market meant we were able to quickly secure the country’s only air ambulance, rather than sourcing a more expensive aircraft from further afield.
Personalised Service: We liaised closely with the patient’s understandably anxious parents, reassuring them that their child would be well looked-after throughout the charter.
