This year’s main total solar eclipse will take place on Wednesday, August 12, when the moon will completely block the sun, creating daytime darkness along a narrow path of totality.
The eclipse's path of totality will cross the Arctic Ocean, eastern Greenland, western Iceland, and northern Spain, extending to the Balearic Islands. Outside this narrow path, a partial solar eclipse will be visible across much of Europe, parts of North Africa, and the North Atlantic.
The best places to see the total solar eclipse are generally considered to be western Iceland and northern Spain. Iceland offers some of the longest durations of totality and dramatic landscapes, but cloud cover can be unpredictable, while Spain combines easier access and better weather, making it the most practical and popular choice for many eclipse chasers despite slightly shorter totality.
Our exclusive same-day flight ensures you’ll be positioned at the destination with the highest probability of clear skies, without the need for hotel stays or complex travel planning.
Timings depend on where you’re watching from. Out of the three possible destinations we will fly to, Valladolid will offer the longest viewing window from 19:34 to sunset at 21:22, with totality at 20:30. The Balearic Islands will see a sunset eclipse from around 19:38 to 20:49, with totality at 20:31, while Keflavík will experience it earlier, from 16:47 to 18:47, with totality at 17:48. Totality typically lasts a few minutes, offering a breathtaking experience that few people ever witness in their lifetime.
To ensure optimal viewing conditions, the final destination will be confirmed around two days before departure, based on the latest weather forecasts. This means we can choose the location with the best chance of clear skies and the longest view of totality.
We will arrange round-trip bus transfers from the destination airport to a designated, approved viewing area set up by local authorities. Telescopes and cameras are welcome, and our baggage allowance accommodates standard photography equipment.
Unlike traditional tours, our same-day flight eliminates overnight stays and uncertain weather at fixed locations. By flying to the best possible location on the day, you’ll enjoy a hassle-free, exclusive eclipse experience, perfectly timed for maximum viewing and photography.
The following major total solar eclipse will take place on August 2, 2027, crossing parts of Spain, North Africa, and the Middle East. While it’s still some time away, we’re already planning a viewing experience to bring you front-row access again. Enquire today to register your interest.
